Haven Welcomes Dr. David Michaels, Monte Zweben, and Julia Lundin to Advance AI-Driven Safety Intelligence
Haven Safety AI is expanding its leadership team with the addition of three nationally recognized leaders across occupational safety, enterprise AI, and infrastructure technology. The appointments include Dr. David Michaels as senior advisor, along with Monte Zweben and Julia Lundin joining Haven’s board.
The additions come as Haven continues to grow adoption of its AI-native platform for incident investigations, root cause analysis, and systemic risk reduction across high-risk industries.
Dr. Michaels is one of the country’s leading voices in occupational safety and health. He previously served as Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, where he became the longest-serving leader of OSHA. At Haven, he will provide guidance on safety practice, regulatory rigor, and evidence-based approaches to reducing serious injuries and fatalities.
His appointment reflects a central part of Haven’s mission: helping organizations move beyond manual, inconsistent investigation processes and toward more systematic learning and prevention. By applying AI to evidence capture, root cause analysis, and pattern detection across incidents, Haven helps safety teams identify risks earlier and take more effective action.
Haven has also added Monte Zweben to its board of directors. Zweben is a veteran technology entrepreneur and AI leader who has founded and led multiple enterprise software and artificial intelligence companies, including Red Pepper Software, Blue Martini, Rocket Fuel, and ControlRooms.ai. His background spans advanced AI, machine learning, and large-scale operational systems, with experience supporting complex environments ranging from NASA to the energy sector.
Julia Lundin also joins Haven’s board, bringing deep experience in infrastructure industries and enterprise technology adoption. Her background includes digital strategy and implementation consulting at Deloitte, product strategy at Oracle, and digital solution innovation at The AES Corporation, a Fortune 500 global energy company.
Together, these appointments strengthen Haven’s ability to support enterprise safety teams as they modernize how they investigate incidents, understand systemic risk, and prevent recurrence. Haven’s platform is already being used across major operations, where teams are reporting faster investigations, more consistent analysis, and improved visibility into underlying risk patterns.
“We are honored to welcome Dr. Michaels, Monte, and Julia to Haven,” said Joseph Hanna, Co-Founder and CEO of Haven. “Each of them has shaped their industries through rigorous thinking, operational excellence, and a commitment to real-world impact. Their guidance will help us accelerate our mission to define the future of AI-driven safety intelligence.”
As organizations in utilities, energy, construction, oil and gas, logistics, and other high-risk sectors look for better ways to manage safety performance, Haven is focused on helping teams shift from reactive reporting to proactive prevention.
